Ci sono diverse “Hall of Fame” e in questo articolo vi raccontiamo la storia di quella dedicata alle figure che si sono contraddistinte nell’industria dell’auto. Un percorso lungo, fatto di persone importanti, che continua ancora oggi. Ecco tutti i protagonisti dell’Automotive Hall of Fame.
Cos’è l’Automotive Hall of Fame
L’Automotive Hall of Fame è un’associazione le cui origini partono il 18 ottobre 1939 a New York City: il gruppo di fondatori si chiamava “Automobile Old Timers” ed essi si impegnavano a perpetuare i ricordi dei primi pionieri automobilistici.
Nei primi 3 decenni l’Automotive Hall of Fame ha cambiato nome in totale 4 volte: Automotive Old Timers (seconda versione – 1957), The Automotive Organization Team (terza versione – 1971) e quella attuale “The Automotive Hall of Fame“.
Dopo essersi trasferita a Washington DC nel 1960, condividendo lo spazio nell’edificio della National Automobile Dealers Association, nel 1971 si trasferì nel Michigan in cui nacque anche il Museo dell’Automotive Hall of Fame, a Midland.
L’organizzazione si è trasferita nella nuova sede a Dearborn nel 1997, mentre nel 2009 si è spostata all’interno del Michigan Science Center; recentemente si trova invece presso la Daytona International Speedway.
Nella storia della Automotive Hall of Fame troviamo tante personalità che si sono distinte nel campo dell’automobilismo, per vari motivi.
